Boom Festival | Lead Carpenter | 2025
Boom Festival is a biennial transformational gathering held in Idanha-a-Nova, Portugal, that blends music, visionary art, and sustainability. Hosting 40K people over 8 days, it’s a celebration of connection through interactive art and playful immersive experiences.
Kinetic Dragon – Built timber frame using traditional joinery methods (mortise and tenon and others). Engineered interactive dragon sculpture whose wings animated through participant movement.
The Snakes – Constructed monumental serpents woven into the Info Tent, clad in recycled panels from past artworks. Combined sculptural form with sustainable reuse.
Artists Village Gate – Delivered a striking entrance structure under tight deadlines, combining brick, concrete, and timber into a bold landmark.
Heritage Hotel Refurbishment | Project Manager | 2024-25
Built in the 1880s in a Victorian Italianate style, The Surrey Hotel stands as a local landmark that nods to Sydney’s architectural past. It had grown tired and needed restoration maintaining its historic character.
Managed complex site logistics, scheduling, and procurement across multiple trades.
Delivered structural carpentry, detailed joinery, and high-quality interior finishes.
Ensured smooth communication and collaboration between carpenters, stonemasons, electricians, and heritage specialists.
Balanced tight timelines with the precision required for heritage compliance and structural integrity.
Unyoked Off-Grid Cabins | Lead Scout & Carpenter | 2021-24
Unyoked is a boutique off-grid cabin company creating minimalist, solar-powered wilderness retreats across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.
A blend of practical carpentry and site-building skills, creative problem-solving, and a deep understanding of landscape integration—crafting spaces that connect people to nature through thoughtful design and sustainable construction.
Hands-on involvement in the design, construction, and installation of off-grid cabins.
Assess remote cabin locations, ensuring each site offered both seclusion and natural beauty. Combining on-ground research, logistics, and environmental assessment and working with land owners to provide the best experience.
Metal Handle Fabrication | 2020-21
Designed and crafted custom handle from raw stock using cutting, heat treatment, bending, drilling, and polishing. Showcased precision and finishing in metalwork.
Set into production multiple different handles and designs.
Combined metal casting, machining, and finishing techniques to create a sculptural, functional lamp.
Produced and refined wax moulds, ceramic shells, and metal casts with precision and consistency.
Applied TIG welding, bending, and assembly skills to ensure both structural accuracy and refined form.
